Earlier this week the actor Heath Ledger died. I wasn't a HUGE fan, but I thought he was a good-looking guy and a very talented actor. I do believe his overdose was accidental, but whether it was or wasn't it doesn't make his death any less of a tragedy. I feel terrible for his family, friends and most of all his little girl who is now without her Daddy. This morning I heard on the news that the Westboro Baptist Church is picketing Heath's funeral. This is the same church who picket a soldier who died in Iraq. What's wrong with these people? I believe that everybody has a right to their own opinion. That's fine and so not the issue. What I have a HUGE problem with is picketing a funeral. How sick is that? These poor people (some not even from this country!) are mourning their loved one and have to deal with people marching around with anti-homosexual signs. Heath wasn't even gay and neither was the soldier. We have a right to free speech and religion, but defamation of character is illegal. This Westboro Baptist Church are some sick people. Look them up on the internet and see for yourself. The first thing you'll notice is their URL. There's a lot of "hate" in them and I believe there is just far too much of that already.
